Congresswoman Elaine Luria today voted for the Build Back Better Act (H.R. 5376), which represents the largest effort to combat climate change in American history, secures child care for roughly 500,000 Virginian children, and expands preschool access for every 3- and 4-year old in the Commonwealth. The legislation also cuts taxes for Virginian families, lowers prescription drug prices, and creates good-paying jobs without adding to the national debt.

"I am proud to support the Build Back Better Act because it will improve the quality of life for working families in Coastal Virginia, strengthen our clean energy economy, and help make the planet more livable for our children," Congresswoman Luria said. "After weeks of negotiations to lower the overall cost of the legislation, I firmly believe these investments are exactly what the American economy needs to reduce prices, make health and child care more affordable, and create good-paying jobs in the industries of the future."
